I went tu Istanbul last weekend and had very good food indeed!
We passed through Munich and did u know the airport gives u free coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc for free and unlimited!
We had quite a nice sandwich before going on to our Turkish getaway.
They had lentil soup (which I looove) everywhere and I can say without
hesitation I had the best grilled lamb ever 🙂
We also had fried ice cream surprisingly.
Tea is a national past time there and it’s brewed so steep u definitely need sugar to soften the blow.
There are also mounds of fresh oranges and pomegranates for street vendors to make u fresh juice on demand for cheap.
Also with each meal at the restaurant u get fresh bread for free (and in huuuge quantities!) just like in France !
The pastries were also a wonder, especially the baklavas dripping in sweet honey.
We also went to the spice markets and smelled the wonderful spices, saw goats cheese in a goats skin ( eww!) as well as honey in the comb (yum!)
One disappointment though was street vendor corn on the cob. From the moments I saw ghost golden nuggets bring roasted in street carts, I was set on trying them. But instead if the juicy crunchy corn on the cob I know and love I got a dried rubbery and floury one 😦
A very good stay I highly recommend it!!!
