Fromage blanc pie/ Gateau au fromage blanc

So i bought a ‘gateau au fromage blanc’ at the supermarket last week (guess who went to the store hungry again?!) and just got around to eating it and it’s actually really good!

Like a more airy cheesecake (without crust).

So i decided i want to try and make one myself (i am not a big fan of premade products, and so hopefully mine will be even better!). I’m hoping to do it this week end for one of my friends’ housewarming party, let’s hope it turns good!

This is the recipe i’m planning on using- it’s a mix between 3 recipes as i am attempting a hybrid between gateau au fromage blanc and cheesecake:

Ingredients (for 8 ppl)

Inside

  • 500g fromage blanc
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 vanilla sugar packets
  • 75g sugar
  • 75g flour

Glaze

  • 200gr frozen raspberries
  • 240gr strawberry jam

Crust

  • 250g spéculoos (crumbled)
  • 125g melted butter

Directions

Crust

  1. Mix the crumbled speculoos and the melted butter
  2. Put that mix at the bottom of the dish you will cook the cake in and refrigerate

Inside

  1. With a hand mixer, beat the yolks and sugar together until creamed, and add the fromage blanc
  2. Mix in the flour
  3. Beat the whites until fluffly and gently fold in the mix
  4. Put in the refrigerated crust and cook at  180C for 35 minutes

Glaze

  1. When the cake has cooled down, put the raspberries on the top of the cake
  2. In a saucepan, melt the raspberry jam and spread it on the surface
  3. Refrigerate again, at least a couple of hours

Phew- that’s hard work, come on you deserve that slice!

Hopefully my cake will look like this !!!

And now, en francais:

Ingrédients (pour 8 pers)

Intérieur

  • 500g de fromage blanc
  • 3 œufs
  • 2 sachets de sucre vanillé
  • 75g de sucre
  • 75g de farine

Nappage

  • 200gr de framboises fraiches ou surgelées (dégelées)
  • 240gr de confiture de fraise

Pate

  • 250g de spéculoos émiettés
  • 125g de beurre fondu

Instructions:

Pate

Enjoy! x
